ABATEMENTS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE SEWER DIVISION VIA WEST BOYLSTON WATER DISTRICT
POOL READINGS
The West Boylston Water District will take two readings for a fee of $40.00 in order to apply for a sewer abatement through the Town of West Boylston DPW. This service is ideal when using outside water for a one-time event where the water will ultimately not be processed by the Sewer division, such as pool filling or power-washing. At the current (2023) sewer rate of .01096 per gallon, using 2,738 gallons or more makes this a feasible option for reducing your quarterly sewer billing. PLEASE NOTE YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING FOR THE WATER YOU TAKE AND USE- the abatement is for sewer usage only.
Please call us 2-3 days prior to your planned outdoor water use at 508-835-3025 so we can schedule your readings. You will be billed after the second reading is taken, no more than 5 days from the first reading. The Water District will send the readings to the Sewer division once payment is received, where the usage will be subtracted from your next quarterly billing. More information from the sewer division can be found here.
SECOND METERS
Second meters for calculating outside water usage are available for purchase through the West Boylston Water District for a one-time fee of $500.00. The meters are installed by your licensed plumber after the primary meter and before the outside faucet or irrigation line. The District will then inspect the installation and install a transponder. Usage will then be sent to the Sewer division on a quarterly basis and water calculated through that meter will be subtracted from your sewer usage.
