Temporary Mandatory Outdoor Water Ban
Starting on May 8, 2026 a ban on all outdoor watering including, lawn and garden watering, pool filling, car washing, power washing and other non-essential outdoor water usage is in effect.
The West Boylston Board of Water Commissioners voted to enact a Declaration of Water Supply Conservation on Friday May 8th in accordance with West Boylston Water District Bylaw Section 6.4.
The Board enacted the Declaration in reply to the failure of the pump at Pleasant Valley Well. The Oakdale Well has been activated with limited pumping capacity after undergoing scheduled maintenance due to higher than usual manganese levels in the ground water, and the ability to remove them. The Lee Street Well remains active and online. Until repairs to Pleasant Valley are complete. It is important to the Town's water supply to conserve until all water sources are fully operational. Once all three wells are fully operational, the ban will be withdrawn. The Water District anticipates this will happen in approximately 3 weeks.
MAY 19 UPDATE:
The replacement pump has been ordered, manufactured and was shipped on 5/19. We anticipate the pump to arrive around 5/26. Depending on availability of our installation contractors, the hope is to have the well back up and running no later than first week of June. Until then, we ask that everyone remains vigilant and patient.
More information will be posted as it becomes available.
