How we run the District
We were established in 1939 and the first version of our
bylaws was adopted at that
time. The District is required to operated
according to the bylaws adopted at the Annual Meeting.
The West Boylston Water District is operated by a
five-member, elected Board of Commissioners.
Water
Commissioners are elected for a 3-year term, and some
members are elected each year.
The Board of Water Commissioners appoints a
superintendent to administer the District on a
day-to-day basis. The
Superintendent
is responsible for insuring good
water quality and service and reviewing all new
development for compliance with Water District
standards.
The consumers of the Water District are an important
part of the District's operations. We invite you
to participate in our Annual Meetings held each May.
The Board of Water Commissioners' Meeting are also open
to the public.
Meetings
Water Commissioner Meetings are held on the
second
and fourth Monday of each month. They begin at 7PM
at our District Offices at 183 Worcester Street.
These meetings are open to the public and we
invite your participation. If you have an issue
that you would like to have discussed at the Water
Commissioner Meetings, please call the office to get
on the agenda.
District Meetings
are held at least once a year
and maybe more often if necessary. The Annual
District Meeting is held in May. All customers
of the Water District are invited to attend to vote on
the articles in the warrant. These articles
involve the election of the District Officers, the
expenditure of funds for Water District projects and
changes to the Bylaws of the District. The warrant
for each meeting will be available for your review prior
to the date of the meeting. Minutes for the last
Annual Meeting are available on our
Reports page.
